The Chelsea Art Show is operated by the Rotary Club of Chelsea and serves three main purposes:
1) To raise money for local charities. All proceeds from the show go straight back into the community.
2) To allow local artists to gain exposure and have an opportunity to sell their work.
3) To allow visitors to see the depth of talent in local artists and purchase their work.
It is worth bearing in mind that the show is operated totally by volunteers. Some have been involved with previous shows, many are doing it for the first time. If you feel something is not being done as well as it might, please remember that the person involved is giving up their time to help, and may never have done it before (and may not want to ever do it again, if the crowd turns ugly...). The running of the show is taken seriously, and after each show we have a post-mortem to discuss what worked well, and what could be improved. If you have any comments, feel free to forward them to info@chelseaartshow.com.au and they will be looked at by the committee.
